Technology is becoming more omnipresent in sports more than ever, and SAP is cultivating this engagement with sports. With partnerships in a wide-array of sports, SAP is now betting big on Cricket.
This sponsorship has shone through partnership with the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), who recently won the Pepsi Indian Premier League (IPL) earlier in the year.
This sponsorship came to fruition with the help of SAP HANA® based platforms, including: SAP Auction Analytics, SAP Game Analytics, and SAP Lumira.
These platforms enabled the KKR team to analyze players during the auction, attain post-game analytics right after each of the team’s games and help drive fan engagement as well.
This technology will be present in the upcoming 2015 International Cricket Council Cricket World Cup, which will be hosted jointly in Australia and New Zealand. The German National Cricket Team will be using SAP Match Insights, which will provide more in-depth insights into player performance, enhancedprofiling tools and mobile solutions for players and coaches on the team.
